A beautiful, riverside town, Kampot was a favorite during our time in Southern Cambodia. It's charming, quiet, and mellow. Besides the delicious food (Kampot is known for its peppercorn production and seafood), it is filled with decaying french colonial architecture. For fans of urban decay, it is just gorgeous. I most enjoyed wandering around the small town through all of its streets and alleyways, and then grabbing some dinner (Lok Lak + Angkor Beer = heaven), right at sunset, and watching the slow paced street scene.
